12 Child Care Mistakes All Parents Make At Least Once In Their Lives
5Using technology to keep them occupied
Parents these days have a lot on their hands which is why most of them use mobile phones and TVs to keep their kids entertained. But, this is really bad for their kids’ health. As per a study, these devices emit radiation which can directly affect the child’s brains and increases the risk of them developing tumors.
6 Covering their feet when they have a fever
There is no evidence to support the “sweating it out” fever-related myth. As such, covering up your baby when they have a temperature will only make their body overheat. So, don’t overdress your baby or cover them with a blanket, but instead, change them into comfortable light clothing and keep the fan on to ensure that the room remains cool.
7Changing them immediately after they go
If you do not want to become the victim of a poo splash, then don’t change them the moment they go since kids tend to poo or pee in quick intervals. In fact, modern diapers need not be changed immediately as they have the capacity to soak up your baby’s elimination for hours thereby keeping your baby’s bottom dry and free from rashes. Wait for a couple of minutes before changing your baby’s diaper and cleaning up.
Doctors usually against spoon-feeding toddlers as it can negatively impact their health and overall development. Instead, they advise to let kids to try eating on their own. Kids tend to become fussy eaters and even be overweight as they grow up if they are spoon-fed. Kids who prefer eating at their own pace by themselves are more likely to be healthier than spoon-fed kids.
