5A nurse tweets against it
The nurse’s tweets were picked up by all large media companies and health sites that are now creating awareness to stop the madness. There are serious dangers to menstrual extraction and on no account should such things be done. Even if it is required, it needs to be done by a professional.
The nurse says that a women’s menstruation is excreted gradually as per the body’s requirements and as much can be tolerated. If a vacuum is used to extract menstrual blood out, it will increase to an unnatural pace. Such things are also not healthy for the uterus.
6Even a doctor is now warning women
The nurse’s tweets received a lot of attention with a certified ob-gyn also involving them in the discussion to confirm what the nurse said that the situation was a grave one and awareness to decease such practices was urgently needed.
The doctor in question was Doctor Aditi Gupta who is a certified Ob-Gyn and also the founder of the Walk in GYN care. She says “It’s a terrible unsafe idea. It can lead to severe injuries of the reproductive canal, and infections. Menstrual bleeding is an active and natural process, it’s not just sitting in the uterus in a pool that can be sucked out. Please don’t even think about it.”
7The trend is still to catch on which is fortunate
Doctor Gupta also said that it is fortunate that the trend hasn’t taken on too much and such cases are isolated ones. “Thankfully we don’t see this often,” she continued. “Menstrual extraction via vacuum can definitely send you into shock. It’s very real and I have thankfully not seen this happen recently, but I have seen shock happen in similar situations before. “
