The stunning and rare turtle was rescued in the Balasore area in the state of Odisha in India. The locals were able to rescue the animal and hand it over safely to the forest department of the Balasore area. This creature has not been seen before and when the images were posted online it went viral. The rare turtle looked more like a lemon than a turtle.

The world got a glimpse of a very rare and unique sight. The rare yellow turtle was spotted in India. This is a very rare creature that isn’t seen that often and most people are often mesmerized by how it looks. Thanks to the local residents in Balasore which is located in the state of Odisha in India, the world got to see this magnificent creature.
2How was it spotted?
The turtle was spotted in the Sujanpur village in the Sooro district of Balasore. The locals who rescued it were quick to hand it over to the forest department. Everyone was amazed by how unique it looked. The whole shell and the body of the rescued turtle was yellow in color and something no one had seen before.
3The forest department was amazed
According to Bhanoomitra Acharya, who is the Wildlife Warden this was an amazing find. He thanked the locals who brought the turtle in as it is something that needs to be protected and cannot survive in the wild. He confessed that this was the first time he had seen a turtle that looked like this. He compared it to a lemon due to its bright yellow color.
4Why is this so rare?
The reason why this was such an important find is that this isn’t your average turtle. Wildlife experts say it is possibly an albino mutation of a common turtle. This is why this is so rare and important. Under the care of the forest department, the animal can be safe and grow in a healthy environment.
