Son Climbs Hospital Building To Watch Over His Sick Mother Through The Window
The coronavirus has already claimed the lives of over 600,000 people. These are people who were someone’s son, daughter, brother, sister, mother, father, grandparents, etc. This pandemic has destroyed families and is still on the rise. Doctors and hospitals are doing their best to save as many as they can but with no cure in hand, they are helpless. One such story of a lost loved one that went viral on the Internet was of a Palestinian son who climbed the walls of the hospital his mother was admitted in to watch over her.
1The heartbreaking story
Recently, the story of a devoted son went viral online. The story is about a Palestinian son who climbed up the side of a hospital building every day so that he could sit on the window ledge of his mother’s hospital room to be with her while she was being treated for the coronavirus.
2Who was the son?
The son was identified as Jihad Al-Suwaiti and his mother was Rasma Salema. Jihad Al-Suwaiti is 30 and loved his mother dearly. The thing that strengthened their bond, even more, was the fact that she was suffering from Leukemia. This made her an easy target for the coronavirus during the pandemic.
3Why did he climb the building?
There is a ban on visiting parents that have tested positive for the coronavirus. This is why Jihad Al-Suwaiti decided to climb the hospital and sit on the window’s ledge to look over his mother. The hospital staff was touched by this gesture and let him continue to do it as the windows were tightly shut. There was no way he could get infected.
4He looked over his mother every day
He would spend all day sitting outside his mother’s window and monitor her condition. When she was diagnosed with leukemia he would do the same. He only left when he knew she was fast asleep. He did this every day until she sadly passed away. The story went viral on the Internet because of how heartbreaking it was.
5She was his last parent
Jihad Al-Suwaiti had only a bother and his mother after he had lost his father 15 years ago. He was the youngest son and was very attached to his mother. This is why he didn’t mind falling and getting hurt but climbed the hospital wall to sit on her window ledge and look over her.
