It was a controversial relationship to begin with when news broke that Prince Harry of the royal family was dating Hollywood actress Meghan Markle. Before long the two had announced their engagement in 2017. It was in May 2018 that the two tied the knot at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle which was a beautiful ceremony to witness.

Here we are a year later and once again in the month of May, the lovely couple have given birth to their first child. A healthy baby boy was born to them on May 6th, 2019. The pregnancy was kept well under wraps with only bits and pieces of information given to the public and media. Finally, the wait is over and both mother and child are safe and healthy.

2The long wait

The couple announced their pregnancy 15 October 2018. As the news spread by early April 2019, a global campaign was set up to raise money for the couple’s favorite charities. The couple was not aware of this and called it a very special gift. £22,000 was raised which the couple asked to be donated to a number of charities.

4No name yet

One thing that was never revealed during the entire pregnancy was the child’s name. There were no hints or signs of what they were going to call their firstborn. Even during the short time Prince Harry spoke to the media, he did not reveal any name. We’re not sure why the couple is keeping this a secret but we do know the child’s name is going to be perfect.

5Seventh in line to the throne

Yes, believe it or not, but the baby boy is currently seventh in line to the throne. He stands behind the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and his children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – and Prince Harry. Prince Harry did say we’d see the child in two days’ time.
