1 Son Doong Cave in Vietnam

This is the largest cave discovered by the mankind so far. Located in Quangh Binh province of Vietnam, the word “son Doon” literally means mountain river cave, which was first discovered by a local man named Ho Khanh in 1991. The cave was formed by the decaying of limestone underneath the mountains by the constant actions of river water for 3-5 million years. The cave is 200 meters wide,150 meter tall and has a length of 9 km. As part of the Phong Na- Ke bang national park, it is regarded as the most beautiful cave on the planet by the BBC.
