This mistake was caused by a text message he had received. His final text message was sent 22 seconds before the impact.

It was reported that the impact was so hard that Peck died instantly. Among the people, onboard 25 had perished that day while the rest were injured. Medical workers arrived on the scene but were too late to discover Peck’s body as they were trying to save as many as possible.
