Meet The Man Who Called His Loved Ones Hours After His Demise In A Train Accident
Death can hit anyone at any time without any warning. We all worry about the safety of our loved ones especially when they are traveling. But what would happen if you got a call from a loved one who you knew was in an accident. How would you react if you found out that those calls were made after they died? This would be shocking just as shocking as the family of Charles E. Peck. They received 35 calls after he had passed away.
1The tragic passing
Charles E. Peck was a 49-year-old customer service agent who went to Los Angeles to attend an interview for a new job. He was returning on September 12, 2008, when he was part of a collision between a freight train and the commuter train he was one. He sadly passed away in the accident.
Charles E. Peck worked as an agent for Delta Air Lines at Salt Lake City International Airport. He was interviewing for the Van Nuys Airport in L.A. This was a financial move as he was planning on marrying his fiancée from Westlake Village. Getting the job would’ve turned his life around.
3He was a family man already
This was not going to be his first marriage as he was already married once before. His first marriage left him with three beautiful children. He was planning on getting married once more and if the job was his he would give his new wife and children a better life.
4The accident was horrible
The accident was a disaster and the train that he was on had 225 passengers along with 3 crew members. The train he was on was hit by a freight train at a speed of 83 mph. This led to his death as well as the death of several other passengers. The cash is now known as the Chatsworth crash.
5How did it happen?
The accident took place in California’s San Fernando Valley due to the engineer failing to stop at a red signal. It was later discovered that the engineer was on his phone and did not notice the signal. This caused the deaths of 25 people including Mr. Peck and injuring 135 others.
