Sleep is something we all adore and love. As we get older, we want to sleep even more than usual. When we were kids, we did not bother much about sleep. We were energetic and full of life and curiosity. But, now that we have college and jobs, our energy levels have come down a bit.

We’ve fallen into a routine and now we love to sleep rather than getting up. Waking up in the morning has to be the most difficult part of every day. But, what if this was a sign of something? What if being lazy was our brain’s way of telling us something about ourselves?

1Waking up in the morning

There are two types of people in the world, those who have a perfect body clock that wakes them up even before the alarm goes off to get ready for college or work and those who need to set 3 alarms to wake up on time. This has been an issue for many people over the years and as we grow older it gets worse.

2Why night owls are more intelligent

‘Why night owls are more intelligent’ is the name of a British study that takes a look at our ancestry to try to understand the signs that normal and highly intelligent people see to let them know which one they are. The research team did learn a few interesting things from this study that they showed in their report.

3According to their study

The study was conducted by researchers Satoshi Kanazawa and Kaja Perina and according to them the phrase ‘Early to bed and early to rise’ was the motto of early human beings. Early man indeed went to bed early and woke up early. By deviating from this norm and waking up late is actually better for humans in our modern society.

4What does this mean?

This means that the people who are lazy and don’t instantly get up at the sound of their alarm are better suited for modern living. This may also be the reason why the snooze button was only recently invented. This also shows us human beings going against what we’ve been naturally doing for centuries.

5It shows initiative

When we listen to our bodies and not to some clock we are showing initiative and being independent. People who are lazy know this will affect their work or study but are willing to take that risk as they believe in themselves and are quite responsible and are able to come up with their own solutions.
