15 Heartwarming Images Of Children On The Day They Were Adopted
According to surveys, 1,200 kids enter foster care in the United States every month. These children have a life filled with stigma and uncertainty. Thanks to the foster care system they don’t have to starve and sleep on the streets begging for money. This is something that has been made only for the protection of children.
But unfortunately, foster care isn’t paradise for all the children in it. Yes, they do meet good and loving people who want to take care of them but as with everything there are a few bad apples in the bunch. The happiest day however for any of these children is the day they get adopted.
1A really happy child
There are millions of children in foster care which is a very sad thing to see. These children are given food and shelter and even education but not the love and warmth other children get. The day a child is finally adopted from that care is the best day of their life.
2Foster care is full of children in need
In America, the foster care system is responsible for taking care of orphaned children until they get adopted. They do this by placing those children in need into an institution, group home or private home of a state-certified caregiver referred to as a “foster parent”. The child lives here with others until they get adopted.
3The children need help
The foster care system isn’t perfect. Yes, it is the reason why there aren’t children dying on the streets and the children within the system are quite happy. But the issue comes up with the number of systems and homes spread across the world. It is hard to make sure every one of them is taking good care of the children.
4Some people misuse the system
There are many people who were caught abusing the foster system. They get certified as caregivers and have children sent to their homes. They are given an allowance by the government to look after the children in their care but sometimes some people use that allowance for themselves and mistreat the children in their care.
5This raises a lot of issues
There have been many reports based on the abuse and mistreatment of children in foster care that went public and caused outrage. Many people were shocked to see this happen even in 2019. The only way to resolve this issue is to have constant sudden checkups on the children in every foster home which is quite impossible as it will require a ton of manpower.
