Did You Know Bon Jovi Opened 2 Restaurants That Allow the Poor to Eat Free of Charge
9Federal employees were served free food during the government shut down
The restaurant also provided free meals to government employees and their families on January 21, 2019, when they were affected by the federal government shutdown. On the website of the JBJ Soul Foundation, it states “Thank you for your interest in our Foundation! Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty, hunger and homelessness through developing partnerships, creating programs and providing grant funding to community benefit organizations.”
10Community events are also organized
The JBJ Soul kitchen also organizes events regularly. On October 5th was the annual Chilli Cook-off and in September again was the kitchen’s hope walk where they thanked their participants on the Instagram page that has 31k followers.
“We had an excellent turnout for our 3rd Day of Hope Walk. We loved seeing so many of our partners and fellow service providers join us as we shined a light on all the good work being done day after day in our community. We see you and we love it! A good time was had by all.”
11Sophisticated and refined meals
If you are thinking that this is just a free community kitchen serving normal meals, then you need to look up their Instagram page where dishes are regularly posted. Some are heavenly items that look as if they have been prepared magically. The presentation too is immaculate and sophisticated and this is where dignity of humanity comes into play where even those who cannot afford are given a chance to taste some really refined meals.
12Some of the stars on the menu
One fine example is the Brie Chicken thigh with sautéed broccoli over rice as promoted on the page which reads “Stop by JBJ Soul Kitchen Toms River and try one of these delicious dishes: Brie Chicken, grilled chicken thigh with sauteed broccoli over rice, finished with a Brie Cheese sauce or the Kids BBQ Chicken Quesadilla served with sauteed carrots!”
