11She asked how he found it

Naturally, the first question she asked was how he was able to find it and then find her. Brad answered all her questions and gave her a chance to read the letter for herself. She too was shocked at the fact that everything was just the way she left it even after being at sea for over 3 decades.

12She revealed how and why she wrote it

After reading it she revealed that she and her cousin were staying at the beach and decided to make a message in a bottle. This was inspired by the hit song ‘Message in a bottle’ by the rock band The Police. They wrote the letter for fun and put in the bottle and tossed it as far as they could.

13They wanted to see how far it went

The idea behind this was to see how far the bottle would go. This is why they wrote their names in the letter and the also added the date they wrote the letter on. This was to let anyone who found the bottle know who to contact or find. This did work in the case of Brad finding the bottle.

14The bottle could’ve traveled the world

She was surprised that the bottle was found close to where she had thrown it but she said that she’d like to believe that it went around the world and came back. No one can really tell how far that bottle actually did go among all the storms and hurricanes the area has seen.

15This was a true surprise

Who could’ve thought that a message placed in a bottle and left at sea would survive for 35 years? Not only did the bottle not break but the letter inside was in perfect condition. It was readable and the author was able to be found. This is truly something you do not see happen every day.
