The liver is the place where the nutrition from our food is metabolized into substances which can be utilized by our body. It is also responsible for metabolizing medications and helping in the toxin elimination system along with the kidneys. As a result, there is great pressure on our liver and we should do everything to detoxify it and keep it healthy. Many people forget that the liver is a vital organ and it is important to maintain its health and strength so that it can work at its best. There are certain exercises which can help you to stimulate your liver. Here are six such exercises.
1Stretch your legs over your head to stimulate your liver
For this exercise, you have to stretch your torso and make it work so as to stimulate the liver and facilitate circulation in the body. It will make your liver ready to absorb the nutrients which you have consumed the entire day.
How to do it:
First, lay on your back while placing your arms with your arms down at the side of your body. Then, raise your legs while keeping them straight. Lift your legs slowly over your head and keep stretching till your feet touch the ground behind your shoulders. Hold this position for a minute and then slowly bring your legs back to the starting position.
2Torso twist pose to improve circulation
A good amount of effort is needed to twist your body as it will oxygenate the liver properly as well as improve circulation. A boost of energy will be received by the organ and each nutrient will be directed to the body part which requires it.
How to do it:
On a soft firm surface, sit with your legs crossed and keep your back upright. With your right hand, grab your left knee. Place your left hand on the floor behind your back while pointing to the right. For 30 seconds, maintain the position. Then you have to twist and perform the exercise on the other side. On each side, perform this exercise 5 times.
