These Viral Photos Took The World By Storm Until They Were Proven To Be Fakes
Everyday there are a thousand images uploaded to the Internet and some of them go viral at times. This means that many people see the image without much context as to what it is actually related to. This is the reason why there are so many fake news titles and clickbait articles around on the Internet.
Today, we have gathered some photos that went viral and took the world by storm by just how realistic they looked but in the end, turned out to be fake. It is very hard to distinguish between a real image and a fake one thanks to today’s technology.
1A spiral cloud
On first glance, this looks like the most surreal breathtaking image you can ever imagine to see in real life. This image was shared online by photographer Ilkgul Menzil and went viral overnight. She had captioned the image “Stormy Sunset on Fethiye” and it was something no one had ever seen.
The image was edited as Ilkgul Menzil is known for combining photography along with digital editing that lets her create the stunning image she wants. This work does inspire people to follow their dreams of being a photographer but also gives them false hope of what they could find on our planet.
2The Madagascar Red Owl
When people first saw this stunning image of the Madagascar Red Owl, they were taken aback as this was something they had never seen before. We do agree with the public’s reaction as this bird looks like something out of a science fiction movie. It looks hypnotizing with its blue eyes and red feathers.
The red owl reality
This image has been circulating online since May 2015 and has been digitally altered to make it look the way it is. The original image was taken by photographer Brian Santos. In the original, the owl has been said to be a Whitehead’s Scops Owl which is native to the Philippines.
