1She was a Lifestyle Blogger before becoming a royal

When Meghan was dating Prince Harry, she was already and established online presence as a lifestyle blogger and ran her own website The Tig which she started in 2914. She ultimately shut it down in January 2017. The website was named after Tignanello wine and it dealt with a variety of topics from food to fashion.

2She’s American

Well, yes maybe everyone knows that and she was raised in Southern California. However, she isn’t the first American woman to marry into the royal family. It was Wallis Simpson a socialite from Baltimore who married King Edward the VIII. The king even abdicated his throne to marry his Love from America. What makes Meghan unique is that she is the first commoner and American to marry into the royal household and hold a title.

3She’s biracial

Meghan is biracial because her father is white and her mother is black. She has candidly spoken and written about her biracial identity and her entry into the royal family which has been known for its colonialist traditions and casual racism is also a first of sorts and a welcome change.

4She was in a sorority

Meghan attended Northwestern University in 1999 and majored in theater and international studies. She was cool with college life and even became a member of a sorority called the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.  While she may be the only sorority sister in the royal family, there have been other royals too who have been member of College Greek organization like Prince Albert II of Monaco who became a member of the Cho Psi Fraternity at Amherst University.
