The human body is an amazing work of art. It begins working from the time we are born until the time we pass away. It is made from different layers like bones, nerves, muscles, and skin that all work together to help us move and talk.

We often think that every human is born the same but then gene mutation comes in and creates some one way more special than the rest of us. They have something so unique about them that they make us believe in superheroes.

1The movie ‘Unbreakable’

In 2000, director and writer M. Night Shyamalan released his movie ‘Unbreakable’ starring Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie was incredible and became a huge hit. It is still considered to be one of his best movies and also one of the best movies ever made. This movie was a superhero movie but unlike anything, anyone had ever seen before.

2Why was it so important?

‘Unbreakable’ was a superhero movie but unlike other superhero movies at the time or even in the comics, the main character was not given any superpowers. In the movie, the main character and the antagonist are both like a superhero and a supervillain but without any superpowers. Their powers were based on reality.

3Real-life superpowers

The movie showed that the main character ‘David Dunn’ played by Bruce Willis was given the power of super strength and very strong and dense bones. This made him walk away from a train accident without a scratch. Samuel L. Jackson who played the bad guy ‘Elijah Price’ was given the opposite power where he was extremely smart but had very fragile bones.

4This is a real-life issue

These were not made up issues but just a bit exaggerated. In real life, there is something called Brittle Bone Disease or Osteogenesis Imperfecta. This disorder results in fragile bones that break easily. There are many levels of this disorder ranging from mild to severe. No, having this will not make you an evil genius.

5The other end of the spectrum

As with anything in this world, there are two ends on a spectrum. One side of this story is that the bones get brittle and weak and the other side is that they get dense and strong. So dense and strong that they become unbreakable. This sounds like science fiction but this actually exits.
